The Abode offers a variety of regular Sufi classes and events. We hope you join us for one or more of the following:
The inter-religious activity of the Inayati Order, promoting harmony between the world’s major religious traditions, primarily through the Universal Worship service. In this service, ordained facilitators (cherags) light candles symbolically representing the world’s religious traditions and read from their sacred texts, often introducing participants to an experience of the teachings, music, or rituals of these traditions. Universal Worship is followed by Sunday Brunch at 12:30 pm in the Rezak Dining Room.
Delving into the history of Sufism through myriad paths, the Tuesday Traditions class provides a broader and more historical look at elements of Sufi teaching and practice. Traditions Class is preceded by dinner at 6pm in the Rezak Dining Room.
Taught from transcribed papers of talks given by Hazrat Inayat Khan, Thursday Message classes mix meditation, breathing and movement practices with receptive listening to Sufi teachings. Message Class is preceded by dinner at 6pm in the Rezak Dining Room.
Please find all of these activities and many other programs and special events on the Abode’s Calendar.
