A letter from Amin, Elected Representative of the Abode Community  To the Abode Committee of the Board of Trustees

Dear Friends, 

We are writing to you because of your connection to The Abode. This caravanserai has been your shelter for a little as a day or two, a month, or, in some cases, many years. You may have had an “ah ha” moment, a deep retreat, been married here, received initiation here, or even given birth and raised children here. You have been sustained by the inner food of the teachings and the outer from the organic farm.

Our Common Cause:  The reason we are writing is to ask you to reflect upon our common cause and to unite with us to bring a fresh dispensation of life and purpose to the Abode. In the next 100 years, we would like our community to keep bringing the Sufi Message of Love, Harmony and Beauty into a tangible reality . After reflection, we hope you will join with us in a new form of Abode Community membership, the Abode Community Worldwide, one that will serve you better and serve all who stay a while under our banner. The Abode is stable, has no debt, efficient staff, and can be likened to an idling vehicle. With your help we will put it into first gear! Our goal is to build a vehicle that will, by our contributions in money, labor and good wishes, be sustainable into the future. We would like to communicate by regularly outlining our short-term and long-term goals and accomplishments, opening our doors to those of you who are locals, and via media opening our doors to those of you who are at a distance. 

Our goal:  500 members between Pir Vilayat’s birthday, June 19, 2011 and his Urs, June 17, 2012.

Membership dues are on a sliding scale, according to affordability, and can be paid monthly, quarterly or yearly at  $9 - $99 per month. Local members may offer volunteer time in our proposed Welcome Center/Bookstore/Café, Abode Workdays, and Special Projects as your abilities and interests afford you the opportunity.
