Sacred Arts Teaches Expression of the Heart

Have you ever wished to play music, sing a song, or jump for joy?  Does music secretly fill your heart?  Or does moving around when nobody's looking give you an indescribable feeling of spirited aliveness?

Join composer, extraordinary musician, and visionary activist Yuval Ron as he teams up with international performer, educator, musician and Storydancer, Zuleikha. Together with their friends, you are invited to experience the alive mystic heart through the expressive arts of music, movement, and poetry.

This very special gathering welcomes participants to join in the atmosphere of creative exploration of sound, soulful singing styles of the Middle East, sacred and folk songs in Arabic, devotional chants of East and West, the Mysticism of rhythm in movement and chant, body listening, Sufi, and Kabalistic devotional music and any number of wonderful collaborations that Zuleikha and Yuval Ron will bring to this special gathering. Participants are welcome to bring instruments, and there will be time for collaboration, improvisation and contemplation in small and large groups, bringing together the language of movement with the harmonies of music.

No experience is necessary, only a willingness to enter into the heart of the sacred.

Both Yuval Ron and Zuleikha have been working in the fields of peace, education and awareness, at home in the USA and internationally.

Saturday, June 30 brings the arrival of the Yuval Ron Ensemble, a fantastic concert group of different Middle Eastern styles of music, rhythms, and song. During the daytime, they will add to the workshop schedule and hold breakout sessions, including drumming, Middle Eastern Vocal, and an introduction to the Qawwali singing of India and Pakistan.  In the evening, Yuval Ron with the Ensemble will perform a concert, with guest artist Zuleikha joining with the group.

Joining the group for a special session of sacred poetry and music as prayer will be Pir Zia Inayat Khan, spiritual leader of the Sufi Order International.

For those with a busy schedule, The Abode offers a one-day registration option to attend Saturday's workshops and concert.

Sitting in the Berkshire Mountains, The Abode of the Message offers a peaceful and harmonious location for the weekend's activities, which begin on Friday evening June 30, and conclude on July 3, Tuesday, midday.

EXPRESSING THE MYSTIC HEART is a wonderful way to spend some heartfelt time in the universal language of our inheritance: the conversation of music and movement.  This is an experience of soul-wealth not to be missed.
