Who Volunteers
The people who volunteer are self-guided individuals, passionate about their work and able to work cooperatively. They are community-minded and spiritual seekers. We have hosted students, carpenters, painters, educators, nurses, artists, writers, marketing experts, and many others. They may be interested in the healing arts or environmental studies. They may want to learn or offer their knowledge about medicinal herbs, forestry, horticulture, carpentry, farming and much more. What our volunteers have in common is their willingness to work and live in community and to learn and share.
There are long-term and short-term opportunities for volunteering including Khidmat, our Work Study program, and Hands to Heart, our Work Exchange program.
