Abode Farm Class – Fall Harvests

with Evan Thaler-Null

September 14, 2017

In collaboration with the Abode Farm CSA, the Abode invites you to attend monthly Farm Classes under the guidance of our Manager of Ecology, Evan Thaler-Null.  These are open to all who wish to reconnect with the rhythm of the earth. Evan will take you on a journey through the farm’s 12 acres of beautiful land at Mount Lebanon once home to the native Mohicans and later the Shaker South family.  Through an exploration of ecology, community, and biodynamic agriculture, these immersive hands-on classes will follow the seasonal rhythms of the farm and strengthen one’s ability to read the local landscape.

Come see what the fall harvest looks like at Abode Farm. Observe our honey bees, chickens, and vegetables as we discuss crop planning, harvesting and curing techniques as we discuss the seasons and how they affect our work, diet, and pace on the farm.

Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for the outdoors. Open to all experience levels.

Followed by langar (free) dinner at 6pm and Fanna-Fi-Allah in Concert at 7:30pm

Evan Thaler-Null
Evan Thaler-Null, Abode Manager of Ecology, has been working on the Abode land for the past five years. Evan moved to New Lebanon in 2012 to take over the management of the farmland at the Abode with his partner, Sarah Steadman, who grew up down the road from the Abode, the daughter of long-time Sufi parents.  As the co-founder and manager of Abode Farm CSA, Evan brings his connection to agriculture, ecology, and community to his role as Manager of Ecology for the Abode. Raised with a love for the outdoors, animals, and plants, Evan first began studying botany and herbalism…
