Dear Abode Friends and Family,

Giving Tuesday as become a global generosity movement which has formed to give organizations great power to transform our world with the collective support of others. The Abode of the Message invites you to join us this giving tuesday and become involved with our renewal year work by donating this November 28, 2023.

The Abode iteself is a place of giving that continues the work of many to connect and gather people in the name of Love, Harmony and Beauty and promote a presence of awakening in every day life. Connection with purpose, each other and our earth is a powerful work that has transformational importance in our age and at the Abode, we are focused to assure this work will continue into the future. For the Abode property, this requires that its systems, spaces and extending lands of over 300 acres be well maintained and able to support varying numbers of vistors throughout the year. As many of you know, this need has been a challenge especially after the pandemic but with focus, love and many hands, a magical year is a foot.

We extend all gratitude to those who donated to the Abode over the past 6 months when support was greatly needed and renewal work became a primary focus of the Abode board and staff. Your support has meant a chance to honor the Abode purpose in the highest. We have repaired or replaced many components to our vital systems including updates to our water system, heating systems in Vakil and the Meditaiton Hall, as well as repair and painting for our beautiful shaker interiors.

Your contribution at this time will ensure that the Abode can complete some very vital repairs before winter, such as completing our new roof for Rezak, which was leaking and rotten through in 10 places on its east side alone. While completing this project, contractors found the Fattah roof to have several leaks and need patching, as well, and so we are extending roofing work to cover the needs of both buildings. The cost of this project is $157,000.

In addition to support for current major infrastrucutre repairs, your donation at this time will take us even further in the coming year. We are looking to fund the addtion of 30 beds as the top 2 floors of Fattah, Rezak and the meditaiton hall currently have no furniture. Our goal is to raise $10,000. to outfit these rooms with beds, lights and small tables to create comfortable housing for our guests of 2024. With retreats, stays and rentals of our spaces already on the calendar, your help at this time will greatly contribute to the Abode’s capacity and ease in preparing for the coming year.
