We Are Creative Animals

What does creativity mean and do we all have it? How does exploring our creative potential lead to deeper self-knowledge? Why does approaching creativity from a place of abundance rather than scarcity change everything? This 90-minute session introduces the core themes of Open Canopy: how creativity and imagination are innate human capacities rather than special gifts, how our daydreams and imagination function as a map of our inner life, and how the same energy we use to make something (art, music, words, food, or anything else) is the energy we use to move toward a more actualized version of ourselves. Drawing on anthropology, developmental psychology, and philosophy, this session combines guided reflection, honest conversation, and a brief somatic awareness practice. No artistic background required; only curiosity about the inner life.
